The Founding 8: A bilingual creative circle for ages 5–11.
Bienvenidos to the Founding 8!
I am so excited to open the doors of Colores for our very first Creative Cycle! This is where your child finds their spark, speaks the language, and sees their wildest ideas come to life.
What we’re up to this Winter (Jan 22 – March): We’re kicking things off with a deep dive into Roots & Resilience. Get ready for:
Bold Self-Expression: We’re exploring who we are and where we come from with big colors and fearless storytelling.
Spanish Immersion: Not from a book, but through stories and art-making that makes the language stick!
Art-preneur Vibes: Your kids aren't just students; they’re artists. We’re prepping them to think big and get ready for the bright lights of the 100 Coombs Art Collective.
The Vibe: Positive energy, big confidence, and a whole lot of heart. We’re tying it all together with themes of growth, nature, and the vibrant colors of the world around us.

The Flow of Every Session
At Colores de Napa Valley, we believe that creativity flourishes within a thoughtful framework. Every hour at our studio is divided into three intentional phases:
Pillar 1: Literary & Cultural Spark We begin every class with a "Spark"—a curated story, a piece of world history, or a bilingual poem. This grounds the art in a deeper context, turning our students into thinkers and readers before they even pick up a brush.
Pillar 2: Guided Biomorphic Exploration Using my passion for organic and biomorphic shapes, I guide students through technical skill-building. We focus on the "Founder’s Energy"—the confidence to make a mark, the patience to layering colors, and the grit to refine a vision.
Pillar 3: The Artpreneur Reflection We end each session by discussing our work in both English and Spanish. This empowers students to articulate their creative choices, preparing them for the public speaking required for our Summer Art Show.
Why Structure Matters
As a teacher at UNIDOS Middle School, I know that middle-grade artists (ages 9–13) crave both freedom and mastery. Our structure ensures that while their imagination is limitless, their skills are being built on a solid, professional foundation.
